FCC has pledged to raise £10,000 for Bristol-based, not-for-profit Community of Purpose (CoP).
The pledge marks the continuity of a 3-year old partnership, in which FCC has supported several CoP campaigns including Pennies for Purpose, Break Free and the Bristol Young Heroes Awards.
CoP acts as a link between communities and a range of local authority and voluntary sector providers, such as the police, social workers and teachers. Through these links, they develop activities and services to generate aspiration, confidence and address inequality. As a result, they improve the lives of Bristol’s young people.

Seeing first hand how they achieve tangible outcomes for under-served areas of Bristol has cemented our desire to help more. We strongly believe in CoP’s action-focused mission to enhance the lives of many, always focused on the most beneficial results for the people they serve. It is for these reasons that we hope to encourage other local businesses to support this inspirational cause.”
FCC has recently raised £1300 for CoP, through a successful, and fun golf day – keeping in line with the ‘sport for change’ mission. Keep your eye on the FCC blog to see other special events that will contribute to this ambitious target.

FCC has also supported Break Free, which is a popular programme tackling holiday hunger by creating pop-up ‘sports villages’ in South Bristol. The Break Free crew organise super-fun sports activities and most importantly provide food for underprivileged young people.
In addition to their frontline work, once a year, CoP puts on an inspiring event – The Bristol Young Heroes Awards. The event brings together city leaders and young heroes aged between 11-19. The awards honour inspirational young people who have made great achievements despite adversity. The event gives young people an opportunity to celebrate, glam-up and meet
important local change-makers. At the 2020 event, FCC is excited to be sponsoring the Enterprise Award – which is awarded to a young person who has identified a need and found an enterprising approach to filling it. We can’t wait to see the nominees for this fantastic category.
Considering donating as a business?
Pennies for Purpose is CoP’s new donate-as-you-earn scheme, which makes it easy for employees of businesses to donate through their pay. Employees can choose to give from £0.01p – £0.99p. Though small, these incremental donations really add up over the course of a year. It’s one of the easiest ways to start supporting CoP. And of course, you can match the donations!
